Hellen's House Revisited

It's been 7 months since we completed Hellen's house in Nakuru, Kenya. The house was built from money lent by Orkidstudio to Hellen and included 10 chickens. With a 5 year plan, Hellen has met every repayment so far and is beginning to grow her egg-laying business gradually.

Hellen has never owned a house or land before, and with 8 children to support she has lived in extreme poverty her whole life. The stoic yet burdened and troubled woman we met two years ago is now vibrant and full of life. James and Dan have spent the past week at the house and it's been wonderful to see this transformation as we prepare to launch an exciting new women's housing project in the area.
